Our History
On April 27, 1940 our Credit Union began as the Serum
Employee’s Credit Union. As the Serum
Company evolved into Fort Dodge Laboratories, Fort Dodge Animal Health, and
currently as Boehringer Ingelheim VetMedica, Inc our Credit Union also evolved. We evolved from the Serum Employee’s Credit
Union to FDL Employee’s Credit Union to Fort Dodge Family Credit Union.
February 2004 we marked a milestone in our history when we
added Nestle Purina PetCare to our Field of Membership. Since then, we have grown and added two new employee groups, the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility in November 2010 and CJ BioAmerica in April 2014. We are proud to serve members from all of these groups!
Not only do we serve the employees of Boehringer Ingelheim VetMedica,
Inc, Nestle Purina PetCare, the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility and CJ BioAmerica, we serve their family members as well. We define family members as spouse, children,
grandchildren, parents, grandparents, brother, sisters, and all corresponding
in-laws.
We pride ourselves with our closed field of membership. In an environment where it is easy to turn to
a Community Charter we have chosen to hold fast to our exclusivity. It is our opinion that we work harder to
serve our members and hold true to the fact that we exist solely to serve our
membership. Credit Union philosophy runs
true and deep within our Credit Union.
Our members truly experience the Credit Union difference…
